Happy Mother's Day

Ever since we have been here we have had issues with our refrigerator. We didn't even know that there was a door for the freezer until we found it behind the frig.

We had to defrost the frig every two weeks because of the frost built up. When we found the freezer door it was minus one of its hinges but had a screw in its place. We developed some lightening quick reflexes with opening the door with one hand and holding the freezer door on while we got stuff out of the frig.

The last couple of  months the freezer works on a part time basis so we were throwing away some meat. We talked to the land lady and she said that she had another frig in her garage but it didn't even have a freezer.
Our language tutor told us that she had a friend that was moving to a different apartment and had a three year old frig that she was selling. We looked at it yesterday and  decided that it would be a great mother's and father's day present. She sold it to us for 50,000 forints which is $214. It will be worth every penny. It is an Electrolux but it doesn't vacuum floors. We are so excited, no more kneeling on the floor to get stuff out of the frig and we won't have to go to the store so often. We can also have cold milk.

Our freezer is as big as our old frig. It was only three feet high! We can now buy ice cream and have ice cubes. Life is great!
