We were ask to be in charge of the district youth activity on the Saturday before our district conference. They began the day by going bowling. Steve went with them and said it was great but different than bowling in America because they use much smaller balls and they don't have holes in them. They wanted to have a Mexican Party. We tried to recreate the Cafe Rio sweet pork burrito and we came really close. We even found cilantro at Achan in Budapest. I didn't get a picture of the lunch. There were only two of the apple empanadas left.
After lunch we all made mustaches to get in the Mexican mood.
After we were in costume we played the Rino game where we pinned a balloon behind and a thumbtack on our nose. The object is to pop another person's balloon with the thumbtack and try not to let your balloon get popped.
It requires some serious moving!
It is really sad to realize that you no longer have a balloon!
We finally had to call a tie because some of these "rinos" were good and fast.
We then played a relay game where we had to knock over eight bottles of water with an orange in pantyhose. We made another pit pinata and it did not take long to break it and get the candy.
We divided into five teams and each team had to come up with a skit using a fork, toothbrush, hat, colored egg and a Book of Mormon. The theme that we used was Stand In Holy Places.
It was a lot of fun to see each performance.
After we had a youth fireside where Elder Boom, a seventy from Holland, spoke along with President Smith. It was a great day and it sure felt good to fall into bed that night.
What a fun party! I love the mustaches and the sweet pork burrito sounds so good right now. I am glad you can introduce them to some fun games.
